I thrive on pushing the envelope, on seeing how much further I can go, on creating something that wasn’t there before, on doing something others thought impossible.
What do you enjoy most about your job? Best part?
I have a really fun job. I make people laugh with cartoons, but I also help business people produce much greater results in their marketing and selling. The best part is when a client tells me, “We just set a new record for response!” or when someone connects via social media and says, “I read your book and it has changed my life.”
I wish I could do more. Ultimately, time—or the lack of it—is the limiting factor.
What type of meetings are you having? How many?
I tend to reach out to people I shouldn’t be able to reach; CEOs, C-level executives, thought leaders, best-selling authors, media contacts, television producers, celebrities, even heads of state. I do this because it is the quickest path to huge results. I also help clients break through to their named accounts. The meetings are most often over the phone, occasionally in person, too. Quantity tends to be low, but the quality of the meetings is extremely high. Maybe a dozen or so critical meetings a month.
How do you introduce Amy/Andrew to new people?
When we’re emailing back and forth and decide to have a call, I tell them I’m “cc-ing” Amy to set up the meeting details, as though she is my assistant. But my favorite part is when, at the start of the meeting, I reveal to the person on the other end of the line that Amy is not a real person, that she is an AI agent. They’re usually amazed. It’s a great way to start the conversation.
Any Pro-Tips you’d recommend to Amy’s other bosses?
Trust Amy to do her job. What she does is nearly magic; she makes setting up meetings so easy, and she is so proficient at dealing with people, you’ll wonder how you got along without her. Recently, one of my appointments cancelled the morning we were supposed to talk. I told the guy, “No problem, I’ll have Amy arrange a new time for the call.” I realized later that, when Amy suggested three more times I would be available for the call, the fellow responded, “I don’t care, any of those will work.” That easily could have stumped Amy, but she simply chose a time and the next thing I knew, we had a new call time already confirmed. Trust Amy. Despite being an AI agent, she’s a real pro.
